RYAN MARIS & ALEC HARRINGTON, SPIRIT LAKE CROSS COUNTRY
YEAR IN SCHOOL: Maris/Sophomore, Harrington/Junior
POSITION: Cross Country
GAME(S) AND RESULT(S):  Class 3A District Meet at Carroll Kuemper October 23
NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS: 
The Spirit Lake boys cross country team advanced two individuals to the state cross country meet in Fort Dodge.  Ryan Maris finished in 5th place with a time of 18:02.  Alec Harrington finished in 7th place with a time of 18:04.  In order to make it to state, you need to finish in the top 10 at districts.  The state meet will be Saturday November 1st in Fort Dodge.  Ryan and Alec also earned All Lakes Conference honors for their performances at the Lakes Conference Meet in Emmetsburg on the 14th.  Ryan would finish 3rd and Alec 5th that night.
MASON McGRAUTH, GT/RA FOOTBALL
YEAR IN SCHOOL: Senior
POSITION: Offense/Defense
GAME(S) AND RESULT(S):  GT/RA beat Remsen St. Mary's 54-12 on October 24
NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS: Mason had a big night for the Titans in their win over RSM, accounting for 5 total touchdowns and nearly 200 all purpose yards.  He rushed 12 times for 46 yards and 2 touchdowns and he caught 6 balls for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns.  On defense, he recorded 4.5 total tackles and had 1 interception.  GT/RA finished the regular season with a record of 8-1 and advanced to the playoffs as a 3 seed
KATHERIN IHNEN, HLP VOLLEYBALL
YEAR IN SCHOOL: Junior
POSITION:
GAME(S) AND RESULT(S):  HLP beat GT/RA in postseason 3-0 on October 21
NOMINATION HIGHLIGHTS: 
In the win over GT/RA in postseason play, Katherin had a big night as HLP advanced in the postseason.  She had 7 kills, 8 digs and was 13-13 serving on the night with 3 aces.  She was also recently named to the 1st team for War Eagle conference volleyball as a junior in Harris Lake Park's first season in the conference.
